From the store in Grotavaer, head north (by foot, for maximum
enjoyment, it's only 1 Km) along the farm road to a turnoff at:
N68° 58.419 E16° 15.933
A path heads up the hill, past a soccer field (don't miss the
Norwegian gun placements up and to your right) to an overlook where
the cache name will help you find it.
This cache is in honor of Hans George Johannessen of Detroit,
the contents placed by his family and friends on his return to
Nordland, where he was born:
- Rapala fishing lures
- Firestone Country Club Hat
- Arrow head
- Omnisafe Brass Tire Gauge
- Omnisafe Portable Office
- Omnisafe Pen
- Detroit Playing Cards
- Toy School Bus
- Petosky Stone
Pictures to follow. It's unreal beautiful. Go in June or July to
catch the midnight sun, and be sure to search out the WWII bunkers
that surround the overlook.
