drikkefontena. Bakgrunnshistoria for den har eg ikkje fått klarheit
i enno, men det er heilt sikkert knytt til Lysvoll. Lysvoll er ein
eigedom på andre sida av elva som har vore nytta av laksefiskarar
sidan seint på 1800-talet. Mange kongelege, utanlandske lordar og
generelt rike folk har vore innom her for å lande den store laksen
i Stryneelva.
Over drikkefontena står eit dikt som også finst på
drikkefontener på den skotske eigedomen Glen Tanar Estate. Så det
er ikkje unaturleg å tru at det er ein skotte som har finansiert
drikkefontena på Lysvoll.
English: This peculiar drinking fountain is placed
right next to the main road. The story behind it is yet unclare but
it is certainly connected to Lysvoll. Lysvoll is an estate right
across the river that have been a popular base for salmon fishing
in the Stryn river since the late 1800s. Many royals, foreign lords
and other wealthy persons have tried their luck at landing the big
one here.
Above the drinking fountain is a poem which is identical to one
found on the scottish Glen Tanar Estate. It is probably a scottish
guest who has come up with the idea or financed the building of the
Lysvoll drinking fountain.
