Lote har i hundrevis av år vore utgangspunkt for transport over Nordfjorden til og frå Anda på sørsida. Denne tradisjonen fekk ein ny dimensjon når ferjestrekninga Lote-Anda og Lotetunnelen vart opna i 1966. Ferjestrekninga er svært trafikkert med mykje tungtransport som nyttar kyststamvegen E39. I 2005 opna vegen mellom Hennebyugda og Hopland og Lote vart eit av endepunkta for Panoramavegen langs fjorden austover til Stryn.

For hundreds of years there's been boats transporting people and goods across Nordfjorden between Lote and Anda on the south shore. This tradition was heavily expanded in 1966 when the ferry between Lote and Anda, and the Lote Tunnel was opened. This ferry link is very busy with a lot of heavy cargo, as this is part of the main coastal road E39. In 2005 a last stretch of the road along the fjord eastwards was finished and Lote became one of the endpoints on the Panorama Road to Stryn.
