"Just another eventless, boring day at work", thought Chief Inspector Johansen while looking at the half meter of freshly fallen snow through the only window of his moderately sized 3rd floor office. He didn't like to work during the weekends, but the pay was good, and the staff schedule was fair so they all took their turns when needed. It was anyway his last day at work before ten days of well deserved Christmas vacation. He was already imagining the snow cave he would build with the kids at their cabin in the mountains.
He was sipping the last drops of his double americano, when the phone on his desk rang. It was the new guy on his team, Mons. "I'm sorry to disturb you Sir, but you must come and see this immediately. We are at meeting room 5."
Johansen elegantly threw the empty Starbucks cup to the garbage can across the room, and started walking towards the meeting room. He was more irate than excited, didn't want anybody or anything to spoil his vacation.
By the time he reached the meeting room at the other end of the corridor, there were already three other people there in addition to Mons: the chief of the criptography deparment, a female technician from the crime lab he couldn't remember the name of, and an elderly man he has never seen before.
"This is Professor Lyngmo, from the linguistics deparment at the university, Sir.", said Mons, "He has been helping the police on other cases before, and we belive he can help us this time too."
"I see, but what on earth this is all about?"
"Sir, it is the Stavne Gang. They seem to be preparing another strike."
"The Stavne Gang? I though we got rid of them in 2006?"
"Indeed Sir, none of us has heard of them during the last six years. However, we have arrested a young woman at their old hiding spot. She was completely naked, and she spoke in a toungue which didn't sound like any language we had heard before. Also, she is dangerously attractive, Sir."
"What else have you found out about the planned strike, Mons?"
"This is all we have at the moment, Sir."
"That is ALL? That is no reason to bother me on my last day before the holidays, for heavens sake!!"
"But Sir, please take at least one look at this photograph of her."
"She is indeed attractive," said Johansen after studying the picture for a minute or so, "but as you know I have been happily married for 17 years, and tomorrow I'm leaving for the cabin with my wife and the kids. Go ahead, investigate this young lady and let me know if you find out anything - but don't dare to bother me without a good reason!"
"All right, Sir! Happy holidays!"
