Boksen ligg nær RV55 ca 1km aust for Skjolden. Du kan parkere ved
innformasjonstavla som er sett opp om den kjende Austeriske
filosofen Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951). Han hadde fra 1914 hytte
i Skjolden. Tuftene etter hytta kan ein sjå på andre sida av
Eidsvatnet. Der skreiv Wittgenstein på manuskriftet til
"Logisk-filosofisk avhandling" og til "Filosofiske undersøkingar".
Frå Valbursteinen er det nydeleg utsikt mot Ås-fossen i aust,
sjå foto.
For å komma opp på steinen må ein klatra opp på baksida, ca 3m
høgde, sjå foto. I barndommen leika vi ofte på Valbustein, så det
bør ikkje vera for vanskeleg å komma opp på steinen.
Den er imidlertid ikkje egna for små born, då Valbusteinen er
høg, frå 3 til 7m. Oppå er steinen nesten heilt flat.

The cache is located close to RV55 1km east of the village
Skjolden. Coming by car you can park your car at the parking spot
which holds the information sign about the famous Austrian
philosopher Ludvig Wittgenstein (1889-1961). He owned a hut in
Skjolden from 1914. Remaining traces of this hut can be seen on the
other side of the lake Eidsvatnet. In that hut Wittgenstein worked
on his manuscripts for “Tractatus
logico–philosophicus” and “Philosophical
Investigations.”
There is a beautiful view to the east to the high water fall
Ås-fossen; see the photos.
Some minor climbing is necessary to enter the big rock
Valburstein. On the back side there is about 3m hight that must be
climbed. I was often playing here as a kid so it should not be to
difficult; see the photos.
Since the rock is quite high (3 – 7m) it is not suitable
for small children. On topp the rock is flat.
