Geocache Description:

Eighty-five percent of the state of Alaska is held in public lands. Among other things, the tallest peaks on North America and the greatest concentration of brown bears in the world are found on public lands. This is the gateway to the adventure and discovery of the geology, biology, and history of Alaska.

The cache is located within the Old Federal Building, which is on the National Historic Site list and the home of the Anchorage Alaska Public Lands Information Center. The center contains free movies, programs, walking tours, exhibits, and information about the parks, refuges, forests, and wildlife found in the Great Land. You are required to go through a security screening (similar to going to the airport). It is wheelchair accessible. The cache is in a military pouch about the size of an adult's hand. The cache is available when the AAPLIC is open (http://alaskacenters.gov/anchorage-hours.cfm). Easily done in minutes.
