Les migmatites du Fossard
Rendez vous dans la Zone d'observation (Way point). un panneau vous explique à partir d’un affleurement comment comprendre cette roche et décrire son histoire.
L’affleurement est constitué d'une roche présentant deux aspects distincts mélangés, un clair et un plus sombre. L’observation microscopique de ces deux parties d'aspect différent permet d’en déterminer les natures. Les parties les plus claires sont du granite et les plus foncées sont du gneiss.Cela fait de cette roche une roche originale puisque mixte.
Au cours de la formation de la chaine varisque, il y a 330 millions d’années des contraintes énormes ( environ 750°C et 4000 bars, soit 15 km de profondeur) ont fait subir aux roches pré existantes , les gneiss, des processus de fusion pour former un magma. Celui-ci en refroidissant donnera le granite de Remiremont. Cette histoire est figée au niveau de cette roche mixte originale d’aspect fluidal : la migmatite.
Pour valider cette cache vous devez répondre à ces trois questions.
1) Lors de l’observation sur le terrain (phase 1), comment nomme t’on respectivement les zones claires et les zones foncées ?
2) Citez les quatre minéraux constituant le granite et les trois minéraux constituant le gneiss mentionnés sur le panneau ? (phase 2)
3) Le gneiss est beaucoup plus ancien que le granite, donnez leurs datations respectives ? (phase 3)

The Migmatites of Fossard
Go to the Waypoint. A board explains to you from an outcrop how to understand this rock and describe its history.
The outcrop contains two different type of stone, a light one and a dark one, mixed together.The microscopic observation of these two parts helps for their identification.
The lightest is a granite and the darkest is a gneiss. This makes this rock an original rock since it is a mixture of the two. During the formation of the Variscan chain, 330 million years ago this place suffered extreme conditions of temperature and pressure (about 750°C and 4000 bars, meaning 15 km deep) and this induced a partial melting of the pre-existing rocks, the gneiss, and created magma. This magma, once cooling, gave the granite of Remiremont. This story has been frozen at the level of this original mixed rock of fluidic aspect: the migmatite. ?
To validate this cache you must answer these three questions.
1) When observing (phase 1), how the light and dark parts are respectively named ?
2) Give the names of the four minerals components of the granite and the three minerals components of the gneiss, written on the board ? (phase 2)
3) The gneiss is much older than the granite. What are their respective ages ? (phase 3)
