This event will be a 'Build-a-cache' workshop and opportunity to share ideas about what makes a good cache...
The theme for this workshop will be Recycling & Upcycling.
Please bring:
Yourself (!)
A potential cache container
Logbook
Pen or pencil
Any camouflage needed
Anything else you think useful!
Sometimes I like to re-use a container that would otherwise end up in my waste bin as trash or in the recycling box to be taken to the local recycling facilities. But, a good container needs to be able to survive the weather, cachers opening and closing it, potentially camouflaged from the eyes of muggles and endure for as long as possible. With a wealth of well designed cache containers available for purchase, what makes a good freebie container from what would be recycled or thrown away?
I have a small collection of tubs, tubes and containers that we can work with, but please do bring your own containers, equipment and ideas. During the event we will share ideas and resources to see what we can make, what works well and what will not; sharing ideas based upon what we have found or see on our caching adventures.
Attendees can then take their own cache away to place as a new cache or replace a 'needs maintenance' cache, or swap/give to another attendee. Remember, sharing is caring!
